How to Prepare for Your First Brazilian Wax

Exfoliate at least 24 hours before an intimate waxing appointment to remove dead skin cells and lift hairs.

Come freshly showered and wear loose fitting clothing.

2 to 3 weeks of hair growth after shaving or hair that is the length of a grain of rice or 1/4 inch.

Avoid caffeine and take an IB profen 1 hour prior to your appointment.

  • Every 4 to 6 weeks is the optimal time to come in for intimate waxing. The hair is generally the best length during this timeframe

  • The answer is YES, but only if you are comfortable with it. Waxing tends to be more painful the week before and during your period. If you choose to wax on your period, let the waxer know and wear a clean tampon or a cup.

  • To avoid or reduce irritation after waxing, it's recommended to wait at least 24 hours for the following:

    • Exercise

    • All forms of tanning

    • Intercourse

    • Swimming/Sauna/Hot tub

    • Tight clothing

    • Exfoliation

    Because waxing removes hair at the root, the follicles are more susceptible to inflammation the first 24 to 48 hours.

    It's normal to experience irritation when you're new to waxing and it should subside in a couple of days

  • While waxing does not prevent ingrowns, many people notice a huge reduction in them compared to shaving. So how do you keep your skin smooth and ingrown free? An easy, 2 step routine that works for any type of hair removal:

    Step 1: Exfoliate 2 to 4 times a week starting 24 to 48 hours post wax

    Step 2: Moisturize the area daily on clean, dry skin. Ask your waxer what they recommend for your skin and hair type
